A Note From Tracy...

Hello :) I'm so used to being on the photographer side - it's hard to get used to being the bride! Please send any questions the website doesn't answer our way. Can't wait to see you all in a few months!

And yes, this is the only photo of the two of us that exists. We are like the cobbler's kids who have no shoes. Engagement photos to come soon.

A Note From John...

Welcome to our wedding website, the design of which has been thoroughly swank-ified by my chums at Playground (man I love those guys). Have a look around and enjoy the aesthetics!

ALSO: y'all know I love making cool, interactive web apps, and the invitees page is no different. A used app is a happy app, so please, please be sure to update us on your info (mailing address will be mighty helpful when it's time to send out the formal invitations!), upload a picture, and put yourself on the map! We hope you will find delightful our non-traditional means of sending a Save the Date notice. :)

Welcome, visitor!

Flight Info

To find a cheap flight to Denver, check www.sidestep.com.

Flight prices tend to increase 3 months prior to your departure date. To get the best rate, book your flight at least 12 weeks in advance. Always book flights on Tuesdays, as that is when the most recent and lowest rates are published by airlines. You can sign up for a Fare Tracker on www.sidestep.com, or check www.faretracker.com to see if rates will be changing soon.

Frontier Airlines often has the lowest rates, so check www.frontierairlines.com for their specials as well.

Shuttle Info

There's an easy to use shuttle that will take you from Denver International Airport to the Magnolia Hotel: www.supershuttle.com.

Should cost $19 per person, one way. This is for a shared ride with several people going to different locations.

Taxis are also available, see http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?city=Denver. Will cost around $43 one way.

Getting Around Town

If you choose to stay at the Magnolia Hotel, chances are you will not need a car. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Denver, just one block from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall and less than a block from the downtown LightRail system. We recommend taking a shuttle from the airport and maneuvering downtown Denver on foot or with public transportation. The hotel also provides some limited free transportation around the downtown area.

A Word About Gifts

We're not too big into stuff. We've got pretty much everything we need for our current home, and it'll be a while before we need to outfit a house. Accordingly, most material things we would otherwise be happy to accept will just have to find themselves in storage for a couple of years.

But we do love us some travel.

As such, we've set up a registry for a most delightful and memorable honeymoon in the Philipines. Getting us any of the things below helps to further enable that adventure, and you can count on being able to read a thorough journal of the whole thing afterwards.

The Registry Items

Below you'll find the list of all the items we can think of to want for a fantastic honeymoon adventure. You may choose the items it would strike your fancy to sponsor by picking a quantity in the "Add" portion on the right, and continue on to PayPal to complete your gift by pushing the button at the bottom.

Accommodations

Night in Boracay

We don't usually stay at super swank places, but it's our honeymoon and we're splurging!  Three nights at this fab hotel will give us some time to relax, enjoy the beach, and start our trip off right.

Requesting: 6 Received: 4 Each Gift: $80.00
Add

Bed at a Hostel

We like to wing it during the more adventurous segments of our journeys and when doing so rarely book a hotel in advance.  Sometimes a simple pillow to crash our heads onto is all we need to enable the best kinds of travel stories.

Requesting: 8 Received: 0 Each Gift: $40.00

Requesting: 20 Received: 8 Each Gift: $5.00

Odds and Ends

Add

Coconuts

If he could, John would snag ripened fruit straight from the source.  Since Tracy doesn't want to resuscitate him after he falls out of a tree, he'll have to get his coconuts from a guy on the street like everyone else.  Help him fulfill his daily habit the safe way.

Requesting: 20 Received: 9 Each Gift: $1.00

Photos of the Magnolia Club

Plenty of well lit nooks for mingling, socializing, and enjoying great food and drink.
Enjoy a game or two of pool, just be warned we're hiding the balls until the ceremony is complete.
Did I mention there were well lit nooks?
Ah, nothing like nothing like a zen arrangement of rocks, running water, and soft lighting for ambiance.

The Magnolia Club

Here's the blurb as prepared by the fine copywriters of the Magnolia Hotel. It pretty well captures the essence. :)

Perhaps a seated, plated dinner in a ballroom is just not your style. For your wedding, you want to mix and mingle in an atmosphere that oozes with contemporary sophistication, befitting of a modern, stylish couple.

Enter the inviting Magnolia Club, a space filled with cozy seating arrangements and modern decor, an intimate library and separate billiards area. The rock formation water feature is a perfect backdrop for ceremonies or the reception. Picture yourself on the dance floor in front of the water feature, with votive candles dispersed among the rocks, providing a romantic, elegant ambiance.

Seating niches with sleek banquettes and oversize chairs provide plenty of space for guests to mingle and savor gourmet delicacies. Enjoy passed hors d'oeuvres or buffet stations with custom chef delicacies prepared exclusively for your event. The spacious, lounge-like setting is perfect for those seeking a chic reception that is contemporary and more alternative than a traditional ballroom setting. The Magnolia Club is a one-of-a-kind event space that is big on style.

The Weather in Denver

Here's the kind of weather we're enjoying here now. What bearing does that have on the weather we'll have around November 13th? Not much, but it's still fun!

Google Wedding Calendar

If you use Google Calendar, you can grab the calendar for all wedding events right now using the button below. As we flesh out the itenerary, events will automatically be added to your calendar!

Tracy's Guide to Your Denver Area Fun

The Stanley Hotel: Steven King's The Shining was written about and filmed at this old hotel. They do offer Ghost Tours, but if nothing else it's an historic hotel that's kinda fun. http://www.stanleyhotel.com/

Downtown Estes Park: A beautiful place to stay, especially if you plan to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. http://estesparkcvb.com/arts_information.cfm

Vail & Breckenridge

Both of these mountain towns are lovely to stroll around and enjoy the scenery. Take a ride to the top of the mountain to enjoy the view, or stay in the village for dining and shopping.

Vail is approximately a 2 hour drive from Denver. More information here http://www.vail.com/

Breckenridge is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Denver. More information here http://www.gobreck.com/

Skiing

If you're looking to ski in November, Loveland Ski Area is the closest and is most likely to have decent snow that time of year. The ski area is about an hour drive from Denver. Check out the conditions on the mountain here http://www.skiloveland.com/default.aspx

Things to do

Once again, the blurb prepared by the fine folks of the Magnolia sums things up nicely:

The Magnolia Hotel Denver is just a stone's throw away from Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, the Pepsi Center, home of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche and the Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium, home of the legendary Denver Broncos. This downtown Denver hotel is also conveniently located near the Denver Museum of Art, the Colorado Convention Center, and all of the city's major corporate headquarters. Our location just off 16th Street Mall makes us a short walk to over 100 restaurants, entertainment venues, restaurants and Lo Do. Take in a show at the Temple Buell Theatre, enjoy a short walk to Larimer Square, or take a five minute drive to the ever-popular Cherry Creek Mall.
